This is obviously a very sad day for all of us, and our thoughts and prayers are with our employees and their families. ABB has made arrangements for counseling services to be provided over the coming days and is making certain our people in St. Louis get the support they need.

The St. Louis plant will be closed on Friday to accommodate further police investigation. ABB is working closely with local authorities, and will continue to monitor the situation as it develops.

Joe Hogan, ABB's CEO, said, "I am deeply saddened by this news, and I know you will all join me in expressing the greatest sympathy to those who have been touched by this tragedy. Our Group and North America teams have rapidly responded to this situation, and are making certain our people get the support they need. However, this is not a loss only felt by the US.
